One Plus 8 Pro Mobile, A Nude Scanner, A See-through Camera

Is it a bug or a feature? Users wondered. Now we know. OnePlus considers it a bug. The OnePlus 8 Pro camera with its special colour filter sensor can in certain conditions look through plastic and other thin surfaces like clothes. The news led to some interesting observations and photos by users, as well as highlighted a few privacy concerns. Now, OnePlus is saying that it will soon issue an update that will likely fix this “bug” in the OnePlus 8 Pro camera.

After OnePlus 8 Pro started reaching consumers some users found that the OnePlus 8 Pro Color Filter lens could see through some objects and even clothes when photo was clicked using Photochrom mode. This didn’t happen all the time, only in certain specific conditions.

While the company had initially remained mum on such reports, it has now taken to Weibo to confirm the news by informing users of its decision to temporarily disable this new 5-megapixel Color Filter camera in the future via a software update. The company has reportedly apologised for this oversight on its part and clarified that the update to disable the lens will be rolled out within a week.

OnePlus has promised to issue a fix for its Color Filter lens on the OnePlus 8 Pro. The lens was found to be able to see through plastic and other thin surfaces like clothes.
